fabric-paper-enhansed

I am in an awesome yahoo group run by Belinda and we are doing a book study on Kelli Perkin’s new book called Stitch Alchemy.  We are in the first chapter and making fabric paper.  I don’t love mine yet and am posting them so that group members can take a peek and maybe help me out a bit….

The first piece is ok in pictures…I enhanced it.  But it doesn’t look like this in real life.  This one looks like it is…blahfabric-paper

and this one…    can use some work–but has potential…pattern-fabric

Well ladies…what do you think?

But wait… We can continue to embellish and embellish. I don’t think the pages have to be wow yet.

I think your fabric paper looks just fine. You can cover it with a press cloth and press it to flatten and soften it. As base cloth, it looks lovely - such a pleasing pastel palette! As you go further into Stitch Alchemy you’ll find more ways to embellish and decorate it. Also, keep in mind that you’re making a base that will be cut up for use in a wide variety of projects. It’s pretty unlikely you’ll ever just look at the whole cloth, unadorned!

I think they are great! Isn’t this just the first step of several? More pop coming, I am sure!
